Rameez Raja (Cricketer)

    Rameez Hassan Raja was born on August 14, 1962 in a Pakistani Rajput family. According to him, he received his early education in a unique way in his own home.     Rameez Raja made his debut in first-class cricket in 1978, scoring over 9,000 runs in List A and 10,000 runs in first-class matches. He is one of the few people in Pakistan to reach 10,000 first class runs. He got a national call against England. He is one of the most influential batsmen in Pakistan's domestic cricket.

    Rameez Raja played international cricket for 13 years, appeared in 57 Test matches, has a career average of 31.83 and scored two centuries. In ODIs, he played 198 matches and scored 9 centuries. He was a member of the national team that reached the semi-finals of the 1987 World Cup. He scored two centuries in the 1992 World Cup, held in Australia, including a century against New Zealand, which was unbeaten during that time. He was awarded Man of the Match for his match-winning performance which helped Pakistan reach the semi-finals of the tournament. In the final against England, Rameez won the honor of taking the final catch which was for World Cup Pakistan. It was a turning point in his cricketing career, as he lost form within a year of the victory and was dropped from the national team.
